About the Event

'WORKING TOGETHER TO CREATE POSITIVE EXPERIENCES' - The Humber PE and Physical Activity Conference is back for 2023!

An opportunity to share best practice with PE Leads and Headteachers from across the Humber Region, hear from guest speakers and take part in a choice of two workshops around inclusivity, diversity and equality. The afternoon session will be split into local area partnership meetings.

Workshops:

1 - Getting more from what you already have – to maximise the impact of PESSPA for your young people - Kurt Lindley

This workshop is about juicing the orange of life and getting more out of your time, your team, your pound by maximising your relationships. Delegates will look at mindset (how we think about the world) and behaviours (how we present ourselves). Using this as our reference point, delegates will constructively explore differences in they share views, listen to the views of others, and maintain the fact that there may be more than one right?

2 - Exploring the role of a PE Coordinator - Owen Denovan - Primary Steps into PE

This workshop is designed for staff new to the role of PE Coordinator or can be used as a refresher. This course supports new Primary PE Subject Leaders to gain an understanding of the role and responsibilties of a PE Subject Leader in the current Physical Activity, PE and school sport landscape.

3 - A Deep Dive into Physical Education - Rebecca D'Arcy, Youth Sport Trust

This session will explore what is required during a Deep Dive in PE during an Ofsted visit. It will feature examples of good practice and how best to prepare!

4 - Enabling staff to monitor and assess progress in Physical Education (KS2) - Phillipa Youlden

A practical look at how to monitor and assess progress across your curriculum for KS2 pupils. This session will give you practical solutions on how to promote consistency across your PE lessons and examples of good practice.

5 - The Sport Premium Grant - Sustainability and planning for 2023-25 - Jo Pilgrim, Sports Structures

This session will look at best practice for schools, creative thinking, the new digital reporting tool and how we can use this for whole school improvement (collaborative working). How can we maximise the impact of our Sport Premium grant?
