About the Event
Schools can enter teams of 16 . All teams must be accompanied by at least one member of staff from the school, who is responsible for registering all children and recording the results of all runners from their schools. For all 3 rounds the same squad size of 16 runners is required to complete all the races. This squad must comprise of: 4 x Year 3/4 Boys; 4 x Year 3/4 Girls; 4 x Year 5/6 Girls; 4 x Year 5/6 Boys. Incomplete relay teams will not be able to compete. Squad sheets will be provided to allow you to organise your runners for each round.
The race format will be identical for the weeks’ of the Cross Country Leagues (Relays) format. There are 3 rounds of the Relays event:
Round 1: Thursday 24th February 2022
Round 2: Thursday 3rd March 2022
Round 3: Thursday 17th March 2022
The events will take place at App Frod Sports & Social Club / Brumby Hall. The first race will start promptly at 4.00pm, with the last race finishing at approx. 5.00pm.
Races will take place around the grass football pitches behind the hockey / football astroturf. Please see map for details.
Each round will be a different combination of cross country relays. A runner can only compete in one relay per round.. 1 lap of the course = 950m approx.
A staff member from each school must escort their team to the start of each race to ensure all their athletes are present.
