Team Challenge Day

Kids Playing Tug of War

WHAT IS A TEAM CHALLENGE DAY

These are fun, practical activities where young people from Year 1 - 6 have the opportunity to learn and develop team building skills using the outdoor and/ or indoor spaces on their school site. A range of activities will encourage and clarify the importance of teamwork skills, share ideas, communicate and plan their problem solving approach whilst working together to achieve success. All equipment/resources will be provided for use on the day.

WHAT WILL THE OUTCOMES BE?

There are many cross curricular links including PE, and PSHE. Young people will develop their teamwork, communication and problem solving skills whilst taking part in challenging and fun activities

WHAT WILL THE SCHOOL NEED TO DO?

  • Schools will need to contact us to book two dates; one for the event and one at least 14 days prior to the event, with the PE lead, to allow activities, a timetable of sessions to be discussed and appropriate resources produced, including a risk assessment.

  • Agree a timetable for the day for groups, with young people working in classes divided into smaller groups. There is a comprehensive menu of full resourced activities to choose from, based on the facilities available.

  • Inform appropriate staff within the school of arrangements. Ensure all children have suitable clothing / footwear available on the day for outdoor and/or indoor activities.

  • School staff can observe their students during the session, but need to present during the sessions.
